The star died at his home in Los Angeles on Thursday (Feb. 1).
Carl Weathers, the former NFL star known for his roles as Apollo Creed in the Rocky franchise and Derick “Chubbs” Peterson in Happy Gilmore, died on Thursday (Feb. 1). Weathers died in his sleep at his home in Los Angeles, according to a statement from his manager, Matt Luber, announcing the news. “Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations.
