Canneseries Reveals Plans to Build Industry Heft via Networking, Discussion Clubs (EXCLUSIVE)

Already boasting a Writers and Producers Club, Canneseries look to add new Clubs to build its industry heft for a standalone 2025 event.

Since its launch in 2018, Canneseries has done very well, attracting not only big U.S. world premieres but banner series from key players in Europe and Israel, whether Beta Film’s “Sisi,” now sold to 120 territories, NRK/Maipo Film’s Norwegian period drama “State of Happiness,” sold to broadcasters in more than 60 countries, or 2021’s “The Allegation,” starring “Babylon Berlin’s” Peter Kurth, and confirmation of the exciting and fruitful writer-production axis of Ferdinand von Schirach and production company Constantin. “We now have the respect of the industry and the support of everyone who has participated before, though we are always looking for new voices and to expand into new territories and over the last few months we’ve been talking to everyone, broadcasters, producers and buyers, of course.” said Lewi. Indeed, there was always a question about how many MipTV and Mipcom buyers actually found time, locked into meetings, lunches and dinners, to screen Canneseries titles on site.
