Finecut has secured a raft of international sales for “ What Does That Nature Say to You,” the latest contemplative drama from South Korean auteur Hong Sangsoo, who is currently serving as a jury member at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film stars Hong’s recent collaborators Ha Seongguk, Kwon Hyehyo and Cho Yunhee, who previously appeared in the director’s “A Traveler’s Needs” and “By the Stream.” The minimalist narrative follows a thirtysomething poet who, after dropping off his girlfriend at her home, unexpectedly spends the day with her family. Other titles include director Park Hoon-jung’s action noir “Tristes Tropiques” featuring a multinational ensemble, and action-comedy “Boss” from prolific Korean production company Hive Media Corp. Finecut will present the first 30 minutes of both projects in private market screenings.
