Cannes Film Festival: ‘Black Dog’ Wins Un Certain Regard Award
The Un Certain Regard awards ceremony is under way at the Cannes Film Festival, with Xavier Dolan's jury set to announce their winners.
With the Cannes Competition jury set to announce their awards tomorrow, tonight the spotlight falls on the festival’s second-most prestigious section, Un Certain Regard. 18 films — including such well-received titles as Rungano Nyoni’s A24-backed “On Becoming a Guinea Fowl,” Latvian animator Gints Zalbalodis’ “Flow” and Guan Hu’s “Black Dog” — have screened over the course of the festival for a jury headed by Quebecois actor-auteur Xavier Dolan, with actor Vicky Krieps, former Variety critic Todd McCarthy, and filmmakers Asmae El Moudir and Maïmouna Doucouré making up the panel. This page will be updated with the awards as they are announced, with a full report to follow.
