French industry and press are gathered this morning at the UGC Normandie theatre in Paris where Thierry Frémaux is about to lay out the official selection for this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Among big-ticket titles already confirmed are Megalopolis, two-time Palme d’Or winner Francis Coppola’s latest, which has locked a gala premiere slot at the Palais on Friday evening May 17. Presented Out of Competition as a world premiere on the Croisette on Tuesday, May 14, the four-part feature will be released in French cinemas on the same day.
