Thierry Frémaux will head to Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Film Festival with his new doc 'Lumiere! The Adventure Continues.'
Frémaux’s 103-minute sequel doc is comprised of more than 100 immaculately restored short films shot by Louis and Auguste Lumière, and explores more in depth the history of the invention of cinema and early days of celluloid around the world. “This film is a vital testament to the foundation of all modern audiovisual content, showcasing the early pioneers who revolutionized visual storytelling,” Red Sea managing director Shivani Pandya Malhotra said in a statement. Other titles in Red Sea’s International Spectacular lineup include “Napoli-New York,” the new film from Oscar-winning Italian director Gabriele Salvatores based on a story idea by Federico Fellini; RT Thorne’s dystopian survival thriller “40 Acres”; Pablo Larrain’s Angelina Jolie starrer “Maria”; John Crowley’s romantic drama “We Live in Time”; and Sony’s Marvel movie “Kraven the Hunter,” directed by J.C. Chandor.
