The Forge has acquired North American rights to Guan Hu’s Cannes award winner “ Black Dog,” and worldwide distribution rights to Alison Tavel’s “Resynator,” which won best documentary feature at South by Southwest. Growing up surrounded by mythical stories of her “genius” father, Alison’s life was absent from any true connection to him before she rescued his synthesizer prototype from her grandmother’s attic. What starts as a curious resurrection project turns into an insatiable globe-trotting quest aided by estranged family, lost friends, fellow inventors, and celebrated musicians like Grace Potter, Peter Gabriel, Fred Armisen, Gotye, and Jon Anderson,” according to an official description.
