Canal+ has upped stake in Asian streamer Viu and See-Saw Films has hired Lisa Gilchrist - Global Briefs
This represents the last instalment of the cash injection and follows a strategic agreement Canal+ struck with Viu parent PCCW last year in June. Vivendi-owned Canal+ claims to have 1.2 million subscribers in the Asia-Pacific region and has been focusing on building out streaming stakes in Viu and in Africa, where it is in the process of buying Showmax parent MultiChoice. Lisa Gilchrist joins as an exec in the UK office and is one of three hires for the Slow Horses, Heartstopper and Power of the Dog producer.
