Call the Midwife teases 'all will be revealed' in first look at Christmas special
Fans eagerly awaiting the 2024 Christmas special and upcoming 14th series of Call the Midwife have been treated to a behind the scenes peek at the seasonal episode
This week, they gave a glimpse of what was to come on the show’s Instagram account, sharing a behind the scenes photo of Georgie Glen, who plays Miss Higgins, peeling sprouts at a table that was overflowing with bowls of the vegetables. The post went on to extol the virtues of the humble sprout that remains a centrepiece of the traditional British Christmas meal and fans were teased with the following words: Matthew and Trixie had a difficult time in the last season (Image: BBC / Neal Street Productions / Olly Courtney)The Call the Midwife social media account previously confirmed that filming had started on the Christmas special on Monday 29 April, along with a photo of the Turner family standing in front of a decorated Christmas tree, holding a clapperboard to mark the first scene being filmed.
