Sandbox Films, a maker of environmental docs, has hired Emmy-winner Caitlin Mae Burke as its new head of production and development.

In addition to 2022’s acclaimed “Fire of Love,” which was nominated for an Oscar for best documentary and won a Peabody, Sandbox is behind the Sundance Grand Jury winners “Nocturnes”and “All Light, Everywhere,” as well as Werner Herzog’s“Fireball” and the Emmy-winning films “Fathom”and “How to Survive a Pandemic.” Outside of its co-productions, Sandbox partners with the Sundance Institute to give grants to artists telling stories about science, and has a NYC studio that includes an ATMOS-certified screening room that is made available to nonfiction storytellers.
