BTS’ RM Announces Solo Doc ‘RM: Right People, Wrong Place’
BTS' RM announced that a solo documentary, 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place,' will debut at next month's BUSAN International Film Festival.
Officially selected to premiere in the “ open cinema ” portion of the 29th BUSAN International Film Festival (BIFF) at an as-yet-undisclosed time during the Oct. 2-11 event, the film makes use of “various backdrops and diverse artistic collaborations [to] offer an evocative glimpse into his introspection and growth adding depth to the maze-like exploration of RM’s identity as both BTS’s leader and the individual Kim Namjoon (RM’s given name).” Produced by the group’s agency, HYBE, and distributed by CJ 4DPLEX, the doc will take ARMY on a journey through the eight months leading up to RM’s military enlistment in Nov. 2023 following the release of his debut solo album, Indigo, in Dec. 2022. Though the exact BIFF screening date has not yet been announced, the release noted that the movie will show in a “large-scale outdoor screening” at the Busan Cinema Center; the film will make history for being the first movie focused on a K-pop artist to be officially selected for the “Open Cinema” section of Asia’s largest film festival.
