Bryce Dallas Howard Says ‘I’ve Never Been Shocked’ by Flops Like ‘Argylle’ and ‘Lady in the Water’: ‘You Can Always See It Coming While You’re Making It’

Bryce Dallas Howard says you can always tell a movie will flop while you're filming it, so "Argylle" bombing did not come as a surprise.

Bryce Dallas Howard has been a part of some of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, be it as an actor (her three “Jurassic World” films each topped $1 billion at the worldwide box office) or director (she’s helmed several episodes of “Star Wars” series like “The Mandalorian”), but she’s also experienced some painstaking lows with box office flops like “ Argylle ” and “The Lady in the Water.” Not that she was surprised. When Ron’s 1992 romance “Far and Away” with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman bombed at the box office, for instance, Howard remembered her father turning to Clint Eastwood for advice on how to cope with movie failures. Howard suffered one of her biggest flops last year with “Argylle,” he $200 million star-studded spy comedy from “Kingsman” filmmaker Matthew Vaughn.
