Brooke Shields opened up in her new memoir about calling the shots in her life, a feeling she's never experienced before as well as aging in Hollywood and more.

Brooke admits that she’ll always be a “work in progress,” but she’s very happy with the confidence and emotional maturity she has earned. Things like spending time in peaceful solitude or sleeping late are pleasures she rarely allowed herself when she was younger. “I’m the one making the calls in my life — not my mother or the media or Hollywood or my family — which is something I’ve never felt before,” says the star, who feels excited about this new chapter.
