Brooke Boney reveals the 'awful' comment ABC employee made about her exciting new career move

A scathing report into racism at the ABC has come as no surprise to Brooke Boney amid claims an employee at the broadcaster made a derogatory remark about the former Nine star.

Boney worked as a newsreader for ABC's Triple J radio station from 2016 to 2018 before switching to Channel Nine's breakfast show Today - a role she recently quit as she prepares to study a Masters of Public Policy at the prestigious UK university. Other measures include rolling out anti-racism training across the ABC, providing pathways for career progression and representation of culturally diverse staff at management level and the creation of a First Nations Director of Strategy role. Last year Grant, who is a Wiradjuri, Dharawal and Gurrawin man, accused ABC management of 'not supporting him' when he was racially abused over taking part in a broadcast panel discussing colonialism ahead of King Charles' Coronation.
