Brittney Griner and Wife Cherelle Are Expecting Their First Baby: 'Coming Soon'
WNBA star Brittney Griner and her wife, Cherelle Griner, are expecting a baby, they announced on Instagram on April 13. The baby is due in July 2024, the couple said.
Alongside a photo of the WNBA star, 33, and her wife holding hands next to an ultrasound of their child, Cherelle wrote that she “can’t believe we’re less than three months away from meeting our favorite human being.” The couple’s happy news is a long time coming, as they first met more than a decade ago while attending Baylor University from 2009 to 2013 — though they did not start dating until years later. Then, in February 2022, the couple’s world was turned upside down after Brittney was detained in Russia — where she was supposed to play in an off-season basketball game — for drug charges.
