People have been warned to take down clocks from their bedrooms in a bid to tackle weary Britain's problem with getting enough sleep. Sleep deprivation can have a serious impact on emotional, physical and mental health and there are a range of simple ways it can be tackled.

People have been warned to take down clocks from their bedrooms in a bid to tackle weary Britain's problem with getting enough sleep. They explain: "Heat, light and noise can impact on our ability to get off to sleep and increase the chances that we wake in the night." Other advice includes never going to bed hungry or thirsty- both of which can wake you up - but also don't chug a load of water before getting under the covers as chances are you'll need to take a trip to the toilet.
