Brits warned DVLA could 'revoke' more than 600,000 driving licences - how to check if you're at risk

Anyone who has had a seizure in the past 12 months could be deemed unfit to drive and risk having their driving licence revoked as a result of a DVLA rule

Over 600,000 drivers in Britain are being alerted that they could lose their driving licence due to a straightforward DVLA rule concerning certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy and strokes. There can be hefty fines for not alerting the DVLA to certain medical conditions (Image: Getty Images/Collection Mix: Subjects RF)With the latter, drivers can reapply for a license after at least a year, or if the seizure was "because your doctor changed or reduced your anti-epilepsy medicine" they can reapply after six months or once they've been back on the previous medication for six months, as long as there hasn't been another seizure in that time. There are also new rules for drivers who've suffered Transient Global Amnesia, which is described by the Cleveland Clinic as "a rare medical condition in which you experience a sudden episode of memory loss", which can be found here.
