The summer of 2024 has been a bit of a nightmare for gardeners, with extended periods of heavy rain making it challenging to grow anything - only for it to be devoured by slugs and snails. Slug and snail populations have been significantly higher than usual this summer, thanks to the dreary and wet weather, but it's set to get even worse in September.
