Britney Spears paid $2.12 million to cover dad's attorneys fees ending conservatorship legal battle

Britney Spears has covered her father's legal bills as part of the legal agreement over a dispute about her 13-year conservatorship. The pop singer, 43, paid $2.12 million to settle the debt.

During one court appearance, she told the judge, 'Ma’am, my dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, and my management, who played huge roles in punishing me when I said "No" [to going on tour] — Ma’am, they should be in jail.' After the details of the settlement were discovered, Britney's former attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, couldn't be reached for comment, however, the Toxic singer was paid a recent visit by her former counsel and shared the moment on social media. In the years that followed, Britney was deemed well enough to work in what the former estate conservator called a 'hybrid business model' in court papers, but not well enough to control her personal life (Pictured in Los Angeles in September 2008)
