As she explained at the time, the “Toxic” singer had attempted a risky leap in the Marmont’s living room in the early morning of May 2, resulting in what she then believed was a twisted ankle. Photos from the scene captured the musician exiting the building barefoot alongside rumored boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz, after which the LAFD confirmed to Billboard that paramedics had departed around 1:17 a.m. without any indication of whether they ever encountered or treated Spears.
