Does the importance of Captain Marvel extend beyond the MCU? Brie Larson reflects on how she’s changed since taking on the role of Carol Danvers.

Her first film alone hit a billion dollars at the box office, with Brie Larson’s performance as the lesser-known heroine managing to out gross Wonder Woman by the end of its run. And similar to how the negative impact of Star Wars: The Last Jedi led to Kelly Marie Tran being ran off social media, Brie Larson has been attacked all across the internet following her taking up the mantle of Carol Danvers in the MCU. Even though Brie Larson’s latest outing in the MCU struggled at the box office, in no small part due to the (at the time ongoing) SAG strikes, it doesn’t seem like she’s ready to throw in the towel as Captain Marvel just yet.
