Brent Faiyaz and Lupita Nyong’o Star in Fake Action Film in ‘WY@’ Video
'Black Panther'/ 'Star Wars' actor Lupita Nyong’o stars with fast-rising R&B singer Brent Faiyaz in his new video for the song ‘WY@.’
It concludes with Faiyaz waking up next to a different woman in time to watch Nyong’o speaking about the film on a talk show. “Back in the mid-‘90s, the ‘Neo Soul’ movement spawned a group of brilliant and musically organic artists like D’Angelo, Maxwell, Erykah Badu and others who were fully contemporary while being deeply informed by the past,” Variety ’s Jem Aswad wrote of the album. “Meet the best Neo-Neo Soul album to date, which brings that same concept into the present, with sexy grooves, soulful vocals and densely layered harmonies that recall peak Mary J.
