Brenda Song Says She and Partner Macaulay Culkin Share ‘Trauma’ from Time as Child Actors

Brenda Song opened up about how she and partner Macaulay Culkin have 'unspoken' understanding of the 'trauma' of child acting and how it's shaped their lives and careers.

“It wasn’t one of the first things we connected on, but I think there was this unspoken understanding that we’ve had certain trauma that we both share that we didn’t even quite realize stems from us being child actors,” Songsaid. Song, meanwhile, worked regularly as a child star but didn’t receive widespread recognition until 2005’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and the 2006 Disney Channel Original Movie Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. Song also appeared in 2024’s The Last Showgirl and the 2023 Netflix series Blue Eye Samurai, and had a recent guest spot on Shifting Gears.
