Brandy Will Go Beyond the Music in First Memoir: ‘It’s a Reflection of Resilience’

Brandy will release her first memoir, which will reflect on her life and career including 'Moesha' and 'Cinderella.'

The currently untitled release, out Oct. 7, will go back to the musician and actress' early beginnings in Mississippi and span her roles in Moesha, Cinderella, and more It was during that same span of time that she starred in the titular role of the sitcom Moesha and made history acting alongside Whitney Houston as the first Black Cinderella. “But what you didn’t see were the struggles behind the scenes, the trials that tested my spirit and shaped the woman I am today.” The artist has experienced a number of health concerns throughout her career and welcomed her daughter Sy’rai when she was 23 years old.
