The story will delve into her early life in Mississippi, through launching her debut self-titled album at 15 years old and the experiences she’s had throughout her acting and music careers, including becoming the first Black actress to play a Disney princess when she took on the titular role in 1997’s Cinderella. She also took to Instagram to share a statement about the exciting news, noting, “Writing my memoir was one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. She continued, “From singing in church as a little girl in McComb, Mississippi, touring across the world, starring as Moesha, and becoming the first Black Cinderella—I’ve experienced unforgettable highs.
