Brady Corbet’s Instant Classic ‘The Brutalist’ Wins Best Picture, Drama at 2025 Golden Globes

‘The Brutalist’ took home the top prize of Best Motion Picture, Drama at 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday night.

Its star, Adrien Brody — who plays a Hungarian émigré and world-class architect — referred to it as an epic movie, the kind he grew up on in the Seventies that filmmakers seem to shy away from creating now. If those still awaiting a wide release of The Brutalist weren’t already eager to see the film, its Best Picture, Drama win at the 2025 Golden Globes should have them rushing to get to the theater. The Brutalist was nominated against James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, Edward Berger’s Conclave, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, RaMell Ross’ Nickel Boys, and Tim Fehlbaum’s September 5.
