Boygenius Is Going on Hiatus: ‘This Is Our Last Show’

Nothing gold can stay.

As alluded to by Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus during their Thursday (Feb. 1) acoustic shows in Los Angeles, they are indeed planning to put an indefinite stopper on band activities following a breakthrough year for the supergroup. The announcement caps off a sensational year for Baker, Bridgers and Dacus, who originally debuted Boygenius in 2018 with the release of their self-titled EP. The three musicians then returned to their respective solo careers before reuniting in 2023, releasing their first full-length album, The Record, in March followed by a four-track EP, The Rest, in October.
