The boxer had been acting erratically before his arrest.
Boxing star Ryan Garcia, who sports a 25-1 record with 20 knockouts, was arrested Saturday night at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills. “Ryan has been open about his struggles with mental health over the years, and at this time he is dealing with an immense emotional burden,” Chavez said in a statement to ESPN. Hours before his arrest on Saturday, Garcia was posting disturbing messages to X about people protecting “pedos,” and complained he hadn’t been paid yet for a fight.
