In a pair of box office milestones, 'Dune 2' topped $700 million while 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' hit $500 million worldwide
“We congratulate our partners at Legendary, [‘Dune’ director] Denis Villeneuve, [‘Godzilla x Kong’ director] Adam Wingard, and their casts and crews for bringing these amazing projects to life and to audiences around the world,” Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca, co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, said in a statement. “We are also very proud of the work our global marketing and distribution teams have undertaken on behalf of ‘Dune: Part Two’ and ‘Godzilla x Kong’ – these box office milestones are a testament to their tremendous efforts.” The studio released “Barbie,” the most successful movie of 2023, and will debut a sequel to “Beetlejuice” and the two-part Kevin Costner epic “Horizon” later this year.
