Bowen Yang and Lily Gladstone star in the remake of queer rom-com 'The Wedding Banquet.'
Based on Ang Lee’s 1993 film, The Wedding Banquet stars Yang and Gladstone alongside Kelly Marie Tran and Han Gi-chan. Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) and Lee (Gladstone) are trying to have a baby through IVF but are struggling to pay for more treatments while Min (Han Gi-chan) needs to get married to stay in the United States but his boyfriend Chris (Bowen Yang) rejects the proposal. The film’s director Andrew Ahn told Variety ahead of the movie’s Sundance premiere that he saw the original version of The Wedding Banquet when he was just eight years old.
