Bowen Yang says Saturday Night Live is 'so hampered' in comedy because cast can't curse on air: 'Let us say s--- and f---'

Bowen Yang told Amy Poehler that not being allowed to curse on 'Saturday Night Live' hampers the comedy: 'Let us say s--- and f---,' he said on 'Las Culturistas.'

The actor and his Las Culturistas partner Matt Rogers welcomed legendary SNL alum Amy Poehler to the most recent episode of the podcast, during which Yang revealed that he'd like to push language a bit further on weekly installments of the long-running sketch comedy program. "Standards and Practices, we should be able to say at least five s---s and five f---s on SNL per season," Yang said during an "I Don't Think So, Honey" segment of Lorne Michaels' NBC show, which regularly sees the hosts and their guests voicing hot takes on a topic of choice. Even without the ability to use extreme profanity during the show, Yang's work as a performer on SNL has earned standout praise since 2019, with the star amassing four Emmy nominations to date.
