Born Gaynor Sullivan in Neath, south Wales, in 1951, Bonnie released Total Eclipse Of The Heart on her fifth studio album, Faster Than The Speed Of The Night, in 1983. The song was written and produced by Jim Steinman, who revealed to Playbill in a 2002 interview that he wrote Total Eclipse of the Heart as a vampire love story.
