Bob Uecker’s Cause of Death: How the Late MLB Announcer Died
The former Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster died at the age of 90 almost two years after he was diagnosed with cancer.
“After a six-year playing career with the Braves, Cardinals and Phillies from 1962-67, Uecker spent more than half a century as ‘Voice of the Brewers’ beginning in 1971,” the MLB’s statement read. “Bob faced a private battle with small cell lung cancer since early 2023, which he met with the same strength and resilience that defined him,” Uecker’s family said, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He brought joy to countless listeners through his wit, charisma, and love for baseball, Milwaukee, and all of Wisconsin, creating a legacy that will forever be cherished.
