Bob Iger, Willow Bay Near Deal to Acquire Control of Women’s Pro Soccer Team Angel City FC for More Than $50 Million: Reports


Bob Iger and Willow Bay are nearing a deal to buy a controlling stake in L.A.'s Angel City FC pro women’s soccer team for more than $50 million.

If the deal is competed Bay and Iger would replace Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian as the team’s controlling shareholder. Puck’s Dylan Byers previosly reported that Bay was nearing a deal for Angel City FC. The team — which commenced play with NWSL’s 2022 season — has several dozen other investors, including celebrities like Serena Williams, Billie Jean King, Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria and former U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team stars Mia Hamm, Shannon Boxx and Julie Foudy.
