Blumhouse has set Black Adam filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra as director, and Danielle Deadwyler as star and EP on The Woman in the Yard. The Woman in the Yard is the perfect match, a film that’s ambitious in scope but modest in budget that combines Jaume’s vision with the incomparable Danielle Deadwyler. The actress can also be seen in the Netflix limited series From Scratch opposite Zoe Saldana, as well as the Emmy nominated limited series Station Eleven for HBO Max, for which she was nominated for a 2023 Film Independent Spirit TV Award in the category of ‘Best Supporting Performance in a New Scripted Series’ and the acclaimed Netflix feature The Harder They Fall opposite Idris Elba, Regina King, and Lakeith Stanfield for director Jeymes Samuel and producer Jay Z and was nominated for the NAACP Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance.
