Blue Peter is set for a MAJOR shake up as BBC plan to ditch live broadcasts and switch up presenters

Hit children's TV show Blue Peter is in line for a major shake-up which could see the show slashed and presenters switched.

The BBC is putting production of the kids TV favourite out to tender in a bid to revive the shows fortunes (pictured Simon Thomas, Konnie Huq, Liz Barker and Matt Baker 2004) Some of the show's most memorable moments include John Noakes's 1969 encounter with Lulu the baby elephant, who pooed on the studio floor. In its heyday the show had eight million viewers per episode but now just 37,700 people tuned in (pictured Simon Groom, Sarah Greene and Peter Duncan in 1981)
