Blizzard’s BlizzCon Fan Event to Return in 2026 Under New Owner Microsoft Gaming
Prolific video game developer Blizzard Entertainment is reviving its beloved fan event BlizzCon in 2026.
The event, last held in the fall of 2023, was skipped in 2024 as the internal focus for Activision Blizzard was on integration within new owner Microsoft Gaming. BlizzCon’s comeback was revealed by Blizzard president Johanna Faries out of her panel at SXSW moderated by Conan O’Brien. For 2026, alongside BlizzCon staples like Opening Ceremony, in-depth panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competition, hands-on gameplay, and more, we aim to meaningfully elevate this iconic celebration and create an unforgettable experience for all who take part in it.
