Billy Joel wants $49.9M for Long Island mansion he dreamt about as a child

The estate spans a total of 18 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms with three swimming pools, a beach house, two guest homes, and amenities such as a bowling alley and helipad.

Billy Joel looked back at his blue collar beginnings as he seeks to sell a $49.9 million mansion on the Gold Coast of Long Island, New York, which he fantasized about living in when he was a child. The Bronx-born musical artist reflected on his humble beginnings as the mansion he is selling is close to his hometown of Hicksville; he recalled staring at the home while he worked a minimum wage job in which he dredged oysters from the Long Island Sound. Other notable names to have resided in the area include media magnate Rupert Murdoch, prominent Fox News personality Sean Hannity and Exxon Mobil heirs, Joel's staff told the paper.
