Billy Idol Decided ‘Not to be a Drug Addict Anymore’ and Became California Sober


Billy Idol opened up in a recent interview about his sobriety and becoming California sober decades after the height of his drug addiction.

The 68-year-old says his sobriety journey took a while, but he eventually fell into a routine and surrounds himself with other (mostly) sober people The musician explained that his decision to pursue sobriety followed a motorcycle accident he suffered in 1990, which nearly resulted in him losing his leg. Idol shared that he tends to find himself surrounded by people who are also sober, which helps hold him accountable.
