The daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand grew up in Los Angeles and decided to follow in her famous parents’ footsteps after failing to succeed as a model. While marriage wasn’t so important for him the sixth time around, Thornton has credited Angland with getting him out of a slump when they met on the set of Bad Santa in 2003.
