Billy Bob Thornton Drew from His Own Parenting Experience to Play a Father on Landman: 'This Bunch Did Become a Family'
Billy Bob Thornton shared his own parenting experience helped when it came to playing a father on 'Landman,' saying the cast became like "family" to him.
While recently speaking on a panel at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas, alongside his costars from the Paramount+ series, Thornton, 69, said he drew on parenting experience from being a dad to his four kids when it came to playing an onscreen father to his 17-year-old wild child daughter in the show. Thornton's latest comments about his Landman role come after Randolph spoke to PEOPLE in January about the actor playing her onscreen father. Randolph said she and the Oscar winner's dynamic as father and daughter in the show and their real-life relationship started to "melt into each other a bit," to the point where Thornton "definitely is another dad figure for me."
