Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Viacom18 Wins Field Hockey Media Rights for India – Global Bulletin
Viacom18, a TV and streaming group backed by Mukesh Ambani, has secured Indian media rights for field hockey from the International Hockey Federation.
While cricket remains the most popular sport in India, with Viacom18 paying $3 billion in 2022 for digital rights to the Indian Premier League, field hockey also enjoys much support. The recent success of the Indian men’s and women’s national team bodes well for the continuous growth of hockey, and we are excited to bring unbridled access to millions of sports fans in India.” The companies have teamed on two artworks, a Rembrandt seascape and Monet ’s “Boat on the Seine near Jeufosse,” both of which have been brought to life by visual effects artists.
