EXCLUSIVE: Bill Nighy is in talks to star in Clifftops, a Hugo Blick series for the BBC set in a nostalgia-soaked 1970s trailer park overlooking the English Channel. Deadline hears that The English writer has teamed with Drama Republic, the producer behind Netflix’s One Day, to create the six-part series, which sources said has the wit of The Royle Family and the emotional clout of The Grapes of Wrath. Blick’s last major series was The English, the Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer Wild West revenge story, which was co-produced by the BBC and Amazon Prime Video.
