Bill Murray Remembers Gene Hackman As A “Tough Nut” Who Gave Wes Anderson A “Really Rough” Time On ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’
Bill Murray says Gene Hackman was one of the greats but was a "tough nut" when they worked together on Wes Anderson's 'The Royal Tenenbaums.'
Murray described Hackman as one of the greats of the acting profession after his death was confirmed on Thursday, but said he could be a “tough nut” to work with. In a separate interview with The Drew Barrymore Show, Murray said Hackman viewed Anderson — who was in his early 30s when The Royal Tenenbaums was made — as a “punk kid” and was a “little irritable” with the director. Hackman‘s death has raised enough suspicion among the Santa Fe police that they have obtained a search warrant for the Oscar winner’s home after the actor, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and one of their dogs were found dead.
