However, AJ's journey hasn't been smooth sailing; she previously co-hosted Big Brother's Bit On The Side with Rylan Clark in 2013 on Channel 5 but was unexpectedly replaced by Carol McGiffin. A crushing turn of events took place when a severe injury left AJ and Kai unable to compete in the final episode, paving the way for EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and partner Giovanni Pernice to walk away with the Strictly trophy.
