BGT's Ant and Dec reveal huge drunken fight with Ant 'punching Dec in the chest'

Ant and Dec have been best friends for over 30 years and have spent the majority of their lives working together - but they once had a huge bust-up that almost ended their TV career

In a shocking revelation from their book, Once Upon a Tyne: Our Story, well-loved presenting pair Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly shared details about their biggest argument ever that almost saw the end of their successful television career. Back in 1995, following their rise to fame on BBC's Byker Grove as charming duo PJ and Duncan, Ant and Dec, both 48, had a major fallout on a summery Spanish evening which they admit turned 'ugly'. From his own home, a stone's throw from Dec's, Ant shared with The Guardian: "Fundamentally, we've got the same relationship you see on TV, and I think that's what keeps us sane, because if we had pretended to be somebody else for this length of time, it would have all gone t*** up by now."
