Having portrayed the DI from 2014 to 2017 and reprising the role for the UK-set series, the popular show continues to follow Humphrey's adventures, including his romantic journey with Martha Lloyd, played by Sally Bretton, and their aspirations to expand their family. In discussing the new season on The One Show, Marshall teased, "We're basically following Humphrey and his girlfriend Martha's journey as they move in with the mother-in-law down in the South West." "I think it has an amazing foundation as it is part of the Death in Paradise universe, a franchise with a very strong following that is loved by audiences all over the world," Kris shared.
