Beyonce 'Cowboy Carter' promo display on Guggenheim was NOT authorized by art museum - as stunt stirs some backlash from fans calling it 'ghoulish'

A Beyonce promotion for new album Cowboy Carter which was projected onto the Guggenheim on Wednesday was not authorized by the art museum.

They added: 'However, we invite the public — including Beyoncé and her devoted fans — to visit the museum May 16–20 when we present projections by artist Jenny Holzer on the facade of our iconic building to celebrate the opening of her major exhibition.' On Wednesday, the 42-year-old R&B diva unveiled the limited-edition vinyl cover for her eighth studio album Act II: Cowboy Carter - dropping March 29 - and the 53-year-old neo-soul songstress reposted it with the pointed caption: 'Hmmm.' Beyoncé - who has FIVE stylists Marni Senofonte, KJ Moody, Shiona Turini, Karen Langley, and Julia Sarr-Jamois - did damage control by shouting Badu's name four times during Break My Soul (Queens Remix) onstage Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on August 1.
