Beyoncé, Harry Styles, SZA Don’t Record for UMG — But Their Songs Are Being Removed From TikTok Today


Any tracks with a contribution from Universal Music Publishing Group's songwriters are being taken down as UMG's battle with TikTok continues

Beyoncé ‘s “Cuff It” vanished from TikTok on Tuesday (Feb. 27), the latest casualty of the platform’s stand-off with Universal Music Group(UMG). “Cuff It” is one of many Beyoncé songs that features a contribution from a songwriter signed to Universal Music Publishing Group — in this case, Raphael Saadiq. The record company accused TikTok of trying to “intimidate us into conceding to a bad deal that undervalues music and shortchanges artists and songwriters as well as their fans.”
