Beyoncé Boosts Rising Black Country Singers on ‘Cowboy Carter’ Song ‘Blackbird’
Beyoncé highlights rising Black country singers Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts on "Blackbiird."
Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts pop in to sing with Beyoncé on “Blackbiird,” a reimagining of the Beatles 1968 song “Blackbird” (the “ii” signifies the LP is the second installment in the singer’s three-album project). Spencer drew attention in 2021 when she covered the Highwomen’s track “Crowded Table” and earned a co-sign from group members Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires. She also memorably performed Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” at the 2021 ACM Honors and joined the Brothers Osborne to close the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards, both at the Grand Ole Opry.
